"I think that Global Cool is tackling one of the most important challenges facing humanity. I've been very interested to hear about the work you do. I think what Global Cool is doing is brilliant."
Dame Suzi Leather, Chair, Charity Commission.
"Global Cool does a great job."
• Promoting low-carbon behaviours amongst the public, and
• Rolling-out low carbon technologies in developing countries.
All of our work is based on research, and we measure the impact of it all.
In view of the
threat of climate change and the need to deploy all available resources on the
problem, Global Cool Foundation is committed to collaborating with other
organizations. We do this in small ways – eg, we offered to lend our green
carpet for the launch of The Age of Stupid – and also in larger ways, eg, we
recently merged with the Climate Foundation and brought Project Genie into our
organisation.
The science is now very clear. If we are to avoid dangerous changes to our climate, the public – as well as governments and business – must change how it behaves.

“Policy to reduce emissions should be based on three essential elements:
• carbon pricing • technology policy, and • behavioural change
Leaving out any one of theses will significantly increase the cost of action”
The Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change, HM Treasury, 2006
Since launching with a reception at No.10 Downing Street in 2007, which was attended by then-PM Tony Blair, KT Tunstall, Josh Hartnett and ex-Jane's Addiction front man Perry Farrell, we have taken our message far and wide to let people know that they really can make a difference to the health of our planet.
Through our activities we have taken our message to various music festivals, including T in the Park, The Big Chill, and Fuji Rock, where we were joined by Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth. We co-hosted a 'green' Golden Globes pre-party with Leonardo Di Caprio. We produced the first-ever, green International Indian Film Awards (IIFAs), with the support of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The Scissor Sisters dedicated a Brixton Academy gig to us, which was streamed on the internet, where they encouraged their fans to reduce their carbon emissions, Sienna Miller has travelled with us to India to see first hand the effects of climate change and what is being done there to make a difference.
Today our work continues both home and abroad engaging the public in activities that have a positive impact on climate change.
