The Global Cool Foundation is committed to measuring the impact of all its activities for two reasons. First to learn from them, and second to limit the carbon for which we are directly responsible.
In this section, are details of how we measure the impact of our work. Our procedures and methods for doing this are work-in-progress and we will update them as they develop.
There is also the result of a study by Ecometrica which quantifies the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of our operations during 2008. This is the first step in developing our carbon management strategy. The study assessed emissions from office and homeworkers' energy consumption and waste disposal, business travel and commuting. Ecometrica is an independent business providing science-based assessments and monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and land use. Ecometrica works closely with the University of Edinburgh which provides state-of-the-art scientific methodology and academic collaboration and review. The Global Cool Foundation is grateful to Ecometrica and for its assistance.
